Beyond Gas Safe registration, look for an engineer who offers a written quote before starting work, provides a Gas Safe certificate on completion of any notifiable work, and has verifiable reviews from local customers. Be wary of any engineer who asks for full payment upfront, can't provide a registration card, or pressures you to agree without a written estimate.
